The omakase experience at Namba Sushi Kyu was excellent. The four of us enjoyed the fresh sushi and all the non sushi dishes, in total, over 15 courses. Although his English was limited, the chef was still able to explain each dish using a translator app on his cell phone or pointing to the type of fish he was serving us on a paper listing the names of the various fishes. We will definitely go back when we are back in Osaka in the future and highly recommend Namba Sushi Kyu if you are looking for an incredible omakase experience with great food and service

The quality of the fish is outstanding, handled with precision and deep respect for seasonality, and paired with beautifully balanced rice. Every piece felt intentional and perfectly timed. What truly sets this counter apart is the hospitality. Chef Nakatani and his wife are incredibly warm and welcoming, creating a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere from the moment you sit down. Each piece is thoughtfully explained — the cut, the preparation, and the story behind it — making the experience engaging even for seasoned sushi lovers. The space is intimate and elegant, the conversation natural, and the pacing unhurried. Refined yet genuinely human, this is the kind of omakase that reminds you why sushi is as much about connection as it is about technique. A standout in Osaka.

The pacing of the meal was also spot on, allowing us to fully savour each dish without feeling rushed. The chef took the time to explain each course as best as he could in English and how to properly enjoy each, adding an extra layer of appreciation for the artistry behind the food.
