Had a lovely time at Kyo Sushi Ookini, with the lovely head chef and his staff. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious and impeccably crafted. If ever in Kyoto, I highly recommend stopping by - I know I would again!

The best dinner we have had in Japan! The staff treated us with so much care. Tsutomu-san even talked in English with us all the time (we are from Brazil). The food was amazing, and the chef delivered a masterful course. I can't recommend it enough!

Outstanding food and warm hospitality. Our party of 5 English-only speakers were treated to kind attention by the chef and his family for our Omakase dinner. My travel partner and I enjoyed ourselves very much, not only the food but the hospitality and great interaction of the chef and his family and staff. The food was prepared with heart and passion. The chef even explained with great excitement, sometimes through the translation apps. Definitely a great place to visit!
