We had a wonderful time and experience at Sakura san’s class. The class was very well organised and structured. Our nine year old is very shy and Sakura san approached her with patience and after a while she felt comfortable.
We’re so glad that we did this and recommend the class wholeheartedly.

What a wonderful food tour! Gil, our guide had deep knowledge of all the hidden gems, stories of the locations and the food and people were great! Would highly recommend Gil and byfood for the wonderful experience!

Literally the first thing we booked when we planned our trip to Japan. It was so much fun to hang out with Shizuka and experience such special places. 5/5 vibes and food. Sugoi !! Shizuka was so kind and generous, it was a memorable experience and we highly recommend!!!

It was a truly wonderful afternoon and evening. The tour of the workshop was very interesting. The cooking session with Akiko at the end was the perfect way to wrap things up. We were given a very warm welcome at her home.
It was the absolute highlight of our entire vacation.

This experience was an absolute highlight on our Japan trip and is a memory we will fondly look back on. Akiko-san and her brother, Taka-san, made us feel very welcomed, showed us the process of making Ramen noodles in great depth and answered every question we had. Cooking and eating our own delicious Ramen later at Akiko-san's home was the perfect ending to an already amazing day. If you want to experience authentic local culture, learn about types of ramen noodles, or just love eating great food - do yourself a favor and book this. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

It was such a lovely day with Aikiko and her brother! We were made to feel so very welcome, every question was answered, and we even got to have a go at making the noodles ourselves. Visiting Aikiko at home was an unforgettable experience. Cooking the meal was great fun and it tasted absolutely delicious!
I can’t recommend the ramen ‘tour’ highly enough – it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

What a great tour! My wife and I joined Shizuka for a great night in Harajuku, which included trying out all sorts of street food, learning about the history of Harajuku and even making our own okonomyaki! Shizuka is a fantastic guide and we cannot recommend her enough. A five star experience not to be missed! Thank you Shizuka!

We had the most incredible day doing the washi and mochi making with our wonderful guide Yuki. He was so knowledgable about the local area, and it really felt like we were seeing a true representation of life in Ayabe.
Learning about the history of washi paper and the steps it takes to make it was fascinating, and then getting the chance to do it ourselves with an expert was really exciting. We can’t wait to receive our finished Washi postcards at our next hotel! The mochi making was also a wonderful experience, with two sweet ladies showing us the way to properly pound the rice and shape it into delicious mochi balls. We even got to eat the mochi we had made, prepared in three traditional methods.
We had an absolutely unforgettable day with Yuki in Ayabe, and we can’t wait to come back again.
