If you do one thing while you are in Kyoto, make it this! Aki is an amazing cook and a gracious and welcoming hostess. We learned so much about Japanese cooking techniques, flavours and ingredients. The meal was delicious, and the warmth and hospitality made it over the top.

This experience was truly a dream come true! 💕✨ From the very first moment, everything felt so warm, welcoming, and magical. She is not only an incredible teacher, but also the sweetest and most thoughtful host! You can really feel the love and passion she puts into every little detail. Her explanations were wonderful, and she made every step so easy to follow and enjoyable. I learned so much, and making Japanese fluffy pancakes was even more special than I had imagined! It was so much more than just a cooking class. It was a beautiful experience that I will cherish forever and one of my favorite memories from Japan Thank you so, so much for your kindness, patience, and for making this experience feel like a little dream. I enjoyed every single second and couldn't have wished for a more perfect experience! 🌸 I would recommend this class a thousand times over! 💕

I had a fantastic time with Sakura san, she's such a lovely person and great teacher. The mochi were delicious and it was nice to understand the cultural history behind the Japanese sweets. Chocolate the dog is a cutie pie ! Really great experience, cant wait to try again back home.Thank you Sakura san.

An amazing and immersive experience! The 5th-generation owner took us through the historic factory to show us the traditional, time-honored methods of making katsuobushi and shio katsuo. As we did not speak Japanese, we communicated this ahead of time and he kindly arranged an English translator so we didn't miss any of the fascinating details. The bonito flakes tasting over rice was a delicious highlight, and getting a souvenir to take home was a lovely touch. It’s incredible to see a historic craft kept alive here.

Our cooking class with Midori was absolutely fantastic and a truly unique experience! She was so warm and welcoming and took care of all our wishes. We learned so much about Japanese cooking, had a wonderful time in her kitchen, and the food was delicious. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Kyoto. Thank you so much, Midori! Hands down, one of the BEST experiences I’ve had in Japan so far! Our hosts were incredibly warm, welcoming, and kind, making us feel right at home. We started with a beautiful traditional Japanese tea ceremony, followed by making all FOUR types of ramen ourselves! It was such a fun and memorable hands-on experience. They even surprised us with freshly prepared sushi! The sweetest part was the ending: our host personally wrote each of our names in Japanese on beautiful postcards for us to take home. Such a thoughtful keepsake! You can truly feel their passion for Japanese culture and genuine hospitality. I enjoyed every moment and wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Osaka. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful memory. Definitely a highlight of my Japan trip!

The Best Cultural Experience in Osaka!Taking Katsuji’s ramen class was such a special experience! He welcomed my friend Rachel and me into his home with so much warmth and immediately made us feel comfortable. He guided us through making shoyu, miso, tonkotsu, and curry ramen. Every variety was delicious, and getting to prepare and taste the different styles made the experience even more enjoyable. What made the class especially memorable was Katsuji himself. He shared little glimpses of his life and made us feel completely at home. Despite the language barrier, we connected so easily that it felt like spending time with a new friend. He also wrote each of us a beautiful personalized Japanese note with our names and a sweet message, which I’ll treasure. I left with a full stomach and wonderful memories. I would happily visit Katsuji again and take another cooking class next time I’m in the area!

Our hosts Sakura san and Choco chan where fantastic. We got great insights not only on how to prepare the Mochi and Dango but also the heritage, meaning, and importance of them in Japanese culture. It was worth every second, fully recommended

Cannot say enough how lovely this entire experience was. Kazuki was the absolute best teacher and host. He made us feel so incredibly welcome, and I felt as if we became friends by the end of the experience! You learn so much about miso, the process to make it, and the various tastes of that exist! They also provide you with so many delicious treats. Truly wonderful, would absolutely love to do it again.

Amazing experience. Both of the guys who guided us through the class were incredibly kind, skilled, knowledgeable and truly professional, and so was the whole staff. They made everything easy and fun from start to finish. And the lunch we made was most likely the best lunch of my life. Highly recommended.

Everyone was lovely and welcoming! English is limited, but all the information, including beer aroma profiles, is available in English, and staff happily use translators to help. The tour was fantastic, and we learned so much about the brewing process. Definitely recommend the tasting set to try all three beers. If you visit at lunchtime, don’t miss the delicious Wagyu that literally melts in your mouth!
