This was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had! I happened to meet the owner on Threads while posting about Japan, and learned she had a Ramen experience that took place at both her brother’s 3rd generation ramen factory and her house for dinner. We got to try their grandpa’s original ramen after flattening it and cutting it ourselves, as well as try salad, gyoza, and pork ramen soup that were all their mother’s and grand mother’s recipes. She even took care to make sure my mom’s shellfish allergy wasn’t an issue! We spent 5 hours with this kind family, had amazing and deep conversations about cultural similarities and differences, and even got to meet the family’s children, neighbor, and dogs! It was such a soulful experience and I cannot recommend enough. Might be the best experience I’ve ever had in Japan!

Hiro gave us a fabulous food experience in downtown Kyoto and informative walking tour through the Gion district. The restaurants he selected for us were perfect, and met our challenging food restrictions :) He was also a great photographer and knew the perfect locations to take the perfect photo! Great time had at Osaka food tour. Decent, local food stops navigated by a knowledgeable guide who was equally engaging with the two kids, their mum and dad and us two random Scots who made up our group. Everyone enjoyed, and i’d recommend for sure.

My wife, daughters and I had an amazing time. It was delicious and they were patient with my 2 year old. Definitely recommend!

it was absolutely amazing. Got a glimpse of okinawa not from a tourist's point of view but hopping from store to store like a local. Loved it.

We enjoyed our Kyoto food tour with Hiro. In addition to delicious food, Hiro’s local knowledge of Kyoto area, culture, and traditions made our encounter very enriching. But the most memorable experiences were the conversations over dinner. Looking forward to future visits and tours of Kyoto.

What a wonderful food tour! Gil, our guide had deep knowledge of all the hidden gems, stories of the locations and the food and people were great! Would highly recommend Gil and byfood for the wonderful experience!

An absolutely wonderful experience. Chef Yoshi and Amo are excellent hosts and teachers. The food was great, and the chef’s broth is the best I’ve ever had. My son said this was his favorite part of the trip. I absolutely recommend their class. I can’t wait to make ramen and gyoza at home!

A definite highlight of our trip to Japan. From the moment we walked in, Midori-san showed us great hospitality by serving us tea and sweets. She is very friendly and lively, and we felt right at home. She asked about our itinerary and gave us detailed recommendations. This was close to the end of our Japan trip, but I'd strongly recommend booking this near the start so you can benefit most from her suggestions! The cooking class was great and Midori-san was very patient and clear in her instructions. We made vegan onigiri, gyoza and ramen. The onigiri was surprisingly simple to make and we also received printouts of the recipe. After only being back in the US for a few days, I have already made onigiri for lunch. The gyoza and ramen were equally delicious. Make sure to come with an empty stomach! After we finished the food, she even walked us to a nearby supermarket so we could pick up the ingredients to make them at home. Overall, Midori-san went above and beyond to make this a great experience for us. There are of course many things to do in Kyoto, but as a tourist it's rare to be able to have an experience like this where you are welcomed inside a local's home. I strongly recommend this class.

Nothing better for a rainy day than learning how to make delicious dumplings and ramen from two of the nicest people in all of Tokyo, Yoshida and Amo! Gochisousama deshita!

It was a truly wonderful afternoon and evening. The tour of the workshop was very interesting. The cooking session with Akiko at the end was the perfect way to wrap things up. We were given a very warm welcome at her home. It was the absolute highlight of our entire vacation.
