Your hosts at the Amal Center will help you recreate authentic Moroccan dishes cooked the traditional way. Choose from a variety of favorite tajines including chicken with preserved lemon, beef or lamb with prunes and almonds, fish or vegetarian. You can even make sophisticated chicken pastilla or couscous for a small extra fee. The best part - besides the amazing food - is that you are helping support a valuable non-profit cause: empowering women from disadvantaged backgrounds through culinary training and job placement. Our cooking class setting is one-of-a-kind, with a dedicated workshop in our beautiful, peaceful garden, an oasis of peace in a busy city! During the class, while our tajines simmer over charcoal, we'll have a traditional Moroccan tea ceremony. It is a chance to be together and talk about the work Amal has been doing over the last 11 years to empower women and serve the community.

A wonderul experience and highly recommend

I had read about this and was planning a solo trip to Morocco using Marrakech as my homebase. I have friends in Marrakech but wanted things to do while they work. THIS WAS SO GREAT! I had wonderful fellow guests and we each did a tajne ( I did fish) and then shared it, saw them baking bread and I also did a cookie class, you also learn about the moroccan mint tea service and how to do. A great experience

What an amazing experience. In a very casual atmosphere you learn to prepare a very tasty tagine. Great team with a wonderful vision. I really love coming back to do a workshop with my daughter. The tea ceremony with freshly cut herbs was the icing on the cake. Still in doubt, do. You won't regret it. And be sure to order a delicious cup of coffee in sign language.

Wonderful cooking experience as a Mother-Daughter trip

Fabulous experience cooking with my daughter as part of a mother daughter trip. We cooked Lamb Tagine which took about 3 hrs but we had the best time, cooking together, drinking moroccan tea during the tea ceremony and listening to the stories. Would definitiely go back for more.

An authentic Moroccan culinary experience

This cooking class is a must for anyone looking to learn how to make authentic Moroccan cuisine from experts. This non profit organization is providing training and skillsets to a wide variety of Moroccan women seeking a better life. Our group had such a great time making chicken ,fish and vegetable tagine. The place is spacious and the staff are most welcoming. A truly worthwhile experience during a wonderful trip to Morocco several weeks ago!

Vegetarian tagine at AMAL Targa Center

We made vegetarian tagine which was delicious. The staff, chefs and students made us very welcome. The setting was lovely and the morning was fun, informative and relaxing. Thank you to everyone involved. We also visited the AMAL restaurant in Gueliz, Marrakesh. Also heartily recommended for its beautiful leafy courtyard and wonderful food.
