Description
Good to Know
This history-driven pub crawl combines Revolutionary Boston with four wildly different bars, drinks, and stories.
Over two hours, you’ll discover what connects Sam Adams Brewery, the tropical Tiki Cove, the legendary Green Dragon Tavern, and Modern Underground, a hidden cocktail bar tucked beneath a famous pastry shop.
Along the way, your local guide will explore Boston’s history from the colonial era through the Revolution and into the modern day, with stories of smoky taverns, the Boston Tea Party, Caribbean influences, colorful characters, and some of the city’s stranger myths and legends.
This isn’t four stops that feel the same, or a history lecture with a bar at the end. Expect beer, rum, cocktails, trivia, gangsters, and plenty of laughs as we separate historical fact from Boston folklore. Your guide may even challenge you to a game of 2 Truths and a Lie!
It’s history, drinking, and storytelling with a distinctly Boston sense of humor. Some of it might even be true!

Best historic pub crawl in Boston!
Thatcher was AMAZING. We actually walked up to a competitor guide who was very dry and uninterested. From the moment we met Thatcher he was so warm, friendly, funny and so knowledgeable about Bostons History. We went to 4 bars that welcomed us in with open arms and made the experience so great!!! Highly reminiscent this tour 20/10!!!!!!

Fun way to spend the day but don’t forget to eat before!
The pub crawl was great with a mix of history, fun facts, and drinking and getting to know people on the tour! My favorite part of the tour was at the end in the hidden part of the north end. I was surprised that I didn’t know about the hidden bar even after living in Boston for almost decade! Very cool that this tour is interesting not only for newcomers but for Boston residents too.

Mostly Accurate, Completely a blast!
Thatcher’s mostly accurate pub crawl puts your ear to the ground of Boston’s Spirits scene. I didn’t know that a tiki bar and the New England state could have a correlation, but I’m shocked to know it does!
Our group and time together is memorable. I couldn’t recommend going on this Pub Crawl enough!

Felt like a fun night out for drinks with a funny and informative friend!
Had a blast on the tour! The guide had great drink recommendations for each place we went to and a wonderful story teller. Got to learn a lot about Boston without feeling like we were being lectured. Felt like we were all just friends going out for drinks! I would happily join another tour if I went back up to Boston.

Historic and Legendary!
I've done a couple of pub crawls in the past, and this was by far my favorite! Thatcher was super engaging, really knows his history, and has a fun way of sharing it that keeps you interested. You can tell a lot of thought went into putting this tour together. All the stops tied together really well, even though they were all completely different, and each had its own charm. There really was something for everyone!
I also appreciated that every stop had non-alcoholic options, which made the who...read more
