Come and hear first hand stories of life lived and loved amongst the vines, with a relaxed seated wine tasting experience. McCaffrey’s Estate is family owned and operated and one of the smaller producers in the Hunter Valley creating premium, handcrafted wines. The vineyard consists of 11 acres under vine and produces a variety of wines including, Sparkling, Semillon, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Rosé, Merlot Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz & Fortified Wine

Enjoy tasting boutique Hunter Valley wines grown exclusively on the family owned and operated vineyard. These wines are not available in bottle shops. Sit back and relax as we share with you tales of the Hunter Valley and life amongst the vines. Learn how to swirl, sniff and sip your wines along with some interesting food pairing suggestions for the wines you taste.

A great wine tasting experience

What an excellent day this was. Our host, Tinny, guided us through a selection of wines & supported us through exploring the aromas & bouquets which we felt the wine delivered. Such a relaxing afternoon & we were able to leave with a few of the delicious bottles which we had enjoyed.

Lovely visit

We loved our little visit today. The cellar door was lovely and Declan was so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The wines were delicious too!

A gem of a winery

We chanced upon this fabulous winery and were so pleased that we had chosen to stop here. The whole experience was fabulous - professional yet friendly, informative and engaging. The wines were absolutely delicious and cleverly paired with a range of tasty cheeses.

Fabulous experience and beautiful wine. Declan was a wonderful, knowledgeable host. Would definitely recommend a tasting here (and a bottle!).

A great way to spend time in the Hunter Valley

Spent a great hour or so with Declan of McCaffrey's Estate learning about the lovely wines that his vineyard produces - and tasting them too! He was incredibly informative and a very engaging host. Pokolbin is a beautiful location to visit and we would certainly recommend it for either a stop-over or day-trip.
