Listen to the exciting history of cacao while learning how to make chocolate from bean-to-bar. Participants will make chocolate, the traditional chocolate drink of Aztec kings, and will finish the class by creating their very own chocolate bar to take home. The class will also include a chocolate tasting – can you spot the difference between the gourmet and the commercial?
Chocolate making machines

The class is taken within our Chaqchao café where we also sell organic Peruvian coffee, organic homemade desserts, craft Peruvian beer and of course our bean to bar chocolates.

Wonderful experience for the whole family

I have been to chocolate workshops in Mexico and Costa Rica, but this class in Arequipa, Peru was by far the most interesting and fun. Andres is an outstanding instructor. He is super knowledgeable, an engaging presenter, and made sure we were enjoying the workshop. Our whole family loves chocolate and we learned all about what makes chocolate “real or fake” and each member of our family was able to craft their own custom chocolates with high quality ingredients. This was the perfect activity fo...read more

Must Do on Itinerary!

Andreas was very knowledgeable about the process of making chocolate from start to finish. His presentation was engaging, fun, and full of enthusiasm! You walk away with useful information about chocolate and a bag of self-made chocolate.

One of the highlights of Arequipa

It was such a great experience. It is 110 diler per person. It takes 3 hours. You prepare your own chocolate bonbons. You learn a lot about chocolate production and history. And the instructor made it really fun! I highly recommend it. It was such a highlight of Arequipa.
