Good to Know

Each cooking class is expressly reserved exclusively for the group that booked it, regardless of the number of participants. This means that the greatest possible attention is paid by the chefs. It all takes place in a unique domestic atmosphere, with an air-conditioned indoor kitchen and, on fine days, in an open summer kitchen with worktop and wooden dining or dinner table in the shade of a typical lemon pergola. All this, in a familiar and joyful atmosphere, in the name of hospitality and willingness to live and share a moment linked to the strong local tradition of the island of Ischia and the values of friendship and being together.

It is a cooking class based on some of the main traditional recipes of the island of Ischia and Campania. Guests actively participate and learn to cook seriously, often using ingredients from the garden or the small family farm. And after cooking, they sit at the table and taste their dishes over lunch or dinner. The menu presented here, for example, is the basic one, but can be enriched with any other course on request and with a surcharge, such as the real rabbit all'Ischitana (cooked in a clay pan and with a wood stove), the real Neapolitan pizza (present a real master pizza maker who will work with the guests in the wood oven), fish soup and many other delicacies.

Calzone and Montanara

Calzoncini (fried pizzas) filled with ricotta and ham, or garnished in "Montanara" style with tomato and grated Parmesan cheese.

MAIN

Fresh potato dumplings Aunt Clara

Dumplings mixed with potatoes of the vegetable garden, cut by hand, cooked and seasoned with fresh tomato sauce from the house preserves .

MAIN

Parmigiana of Eggplant

They fry the eggplant of the vegetable garden, and then bake them in a pan with tomato, grated Parmesan and, if you like, smoked provola.

DESSERT

Tiramisu

The original, with cocoa, espresso, ladyfingers and mascarpone. Served by the glass has another charm!

don’t miss this cooking experience

this was one of the best experiences we had while traveling through Italy. It was truly cooking with Nonna’s. I am so happy that we found this class. We did another class in Sicily, which was also very good, but I have to say the setting and the instruction was just a lot of fun.

A must do in Ischia

We had the BEST time during this class! It was the favorite part of our trip to Ischia! From the second we met Catrin at the meeting point we instantly felt welcomed. We shared so many laughs in her kitchen and made the most delicious food. We would love to take this class again!

Great Experience!

Our cooking class was great experience. We all truly enjoyed our time preparing our meal. We then thoroughly enjoyed it out on the porch with some fine wine. TBone USA
