Every guest, regardless of their daily activities and visits, must eat. What they will experience in this cooking class is a unique opportunity to watch and participate in the preparation of Macedonian traditional food. More specifically, we are oriented towards local food from our region. In this cooking class we will focus on one or two dough dishes that have been prepared since a long time ago, according to an old recipe. The exclusivity is that the guest will learn how to prepare them and cannot order them anywhere, in any restaurant, to eat them. Here the guest will participate in all stages of preparation and will enjoy the taste of traditional local food, ecologically treated and grown with a lot of love. Everything they will eat is locally produced, from their own garden and farm, or picked from the mountain or borrowed from a local farmer. This is a unique opportunity to experience Macedonia through participating in the preparation of its food.
Lunch
Although the focus is on cooking classes, you get a complete menu (starters, main course, dessert and coffee)
First, you will be welcomed with starters (cheese, ajvar, whole grain breadsticks, salad, brandy, garlic makalo, mushrooms, olives, zucchini) - all homemade, picked from our garden or borrowed from local farmers. Then the class on cooking a traditional Macedonian pie begins and you will be involved in all stages - kneading, stretching the dough with a rolling pin and baking in the old fashioned way over an open fire. The pie filling will be with cheese, eggs from our farm and vegetables (leek, spinach, Swiss chard) from our garden. Once the pie is baked, we will serve it to you, along with a piece of meat (from our farm) and homemade wine (white and red). At the end of this gathering, we will serve you with homemade cake and coffee.
MAIN
Komat- Macedonian traditional pie

Authentic Macedonian Experience

An absolutely wonderful and authentic experience at Pirustija Nedanoski in the village of Ramne! We spent over three hours with Natasha and her husband Vasco, and the time flew by. From the very beginning, we felt warmly welcomed, almost like visiting friends rather than attending a cooking class. Together we prepared traditional Macedonian food, including homemade komat, baked in the traditional way over hot coals. We took part in the whole process, learned about local ingredients and traditio...read more
