Starting with a guided tour of Biarritz, the adventure unfolds to reveal the charming fishing village of Guéthary, the rebellious city of Saint Jean de Luz, and the beautiful hilltop border villages of Sare and Ainhoa, nestled close to Spain. The tour ends in Espelette, renowned for its peppers.

Throughout the tour, Clémence, your local epicurean guide, will unveil the region's delectable food specialties. Explore the secrets of the Basque cake in an ancient mill, taste a traditional lunch at a Basque Cider House, and discover the "red gold" of the region—the Espelette Pepper.

Biarritz (Pass By)

The tour starts in Biarritz, a famous imperial City also known for its surf spirit! We will explore the past of this ancient harbor that became the summer holiday destination of the European aristocracy in the 19th century. But Biarritz is also known as the capital of surfing in Europe, as we surfed the first waves here in 1957!

Le Moulin de Bassilour

You will then be invited to taste the flavors of the Basque cake in an ancient mill in Bidart. Your guide will tell you the story of this ancient cake, made of pastry cream or … cherries!

We will then be heading south and crossing Guéthary, an authentic fishing village also famous for its whale hunting past in the 14th century! The Basque Corniche (Pass By)

We will drive along the famous Basque Corniche, where the secrets of these breathtaking cliffs await. Encounter our local giant, the 18-meter Belharra wave, which comes to life once a year!

Cidrerie Berri

For Lunchtime, enjoy a local meal in a Basque Traditional Cider House (Not included in the price). Experience the taste of the Txuletta, our local beef ribs, and the flavors of our local Ossau Iraty Cheese with a glass of Basque Cider! After lunch, your guide will introduce you to the tradition of Basque linens, famous for its long and colorful stripes. You’ll have the opportunity to visit our last Basque linen manufacturing shop.

Sare (Pass By)

During the afternoon, travel back in time across the Basque Countryside to discover the charm of its traditional houses and churches, its mountain scenes, and tiny villages. Listen to the stories and legends of the ancient Basque people across the remote village of Sare, famous for its smuggling past, and the pious villages of Aihnoa.

Espelette

Our last stop will be in Espelette. This village proudly upholds the tradition of cultivating Espelette peppers, which are meticulously dried by hanging them directly on the front of houses. Discover the secrets of our "Red Gold" and savor its rich flavors with Annie, a local producer. Enjoy free time in the village before returning to Biarritz.

A must for any visitor

Clemence was an excellent guide. It poured with rain but still thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Travelling around in the VW combi was an essential part of the whole experience.
