Experience Details

Whisky lovers, this one’s for you! Try the “Best Blended Whisky in the World" at Asaka Distillery in Fukushima, tour the distillery, learn about Japanese whisky and the production process, and then create your own custom whisky blend. Following this, enjoy an innovative lunch at a fusion restaurant.

Itinerary:

Meet at Koriyama Station (Shinkansen ticket gate on the 2nd floor)

Transfer to Asaka Distillery: Distillery tour (tasting, shop), custom whisky-making (hand filling) experience

Transfer to The Kitchen Platform Restaurant for an innovative lunch using local ingredients

Transfer to Koriyama Station (tour conclusion)

Your whisky-forward journey begins at Koriyama Station, where your friendly guide will greet you. From here, head to Asaka Distillery, the star of the show!

This brewery houses Yamazakura Asaka Blended Malt (produced by Asaka Distillery), which was awarded the title of “Best Blended Whisky in the World" at the World Whiskies Awards in 2022. You’ll get to try this world-renowned whisky, tour the distillery, learn about Japanese whisky and the production process, enjoy some shopping time, and create your own custom whisky blend with a “hand-filling” experience. Handfilling is a unique and personalized experience where you can fill your own whisky bottle directly from the cask; this hands-on process provides a deeper connection to the whisky-making craft, allowing you to be part of creating (then taking home) your own customized blend.

Post-whisky, enjoy an innovative lunch and seasonal cherry blossom dessert at The Kitchen Platform Restaurant, showcasing local ingredients with fusion recipes.
