Being able to enjoy a cultural, gastronomic, mountain hiking experience, and the history and biodiversity of the island as a real place. Our activity will take you to eat like a local, in the restaurants that locals go to. Eat a regional kebab, drink a poncha, all this as a true Madeiran does, along trails little used by those who visit us. Get to know the story told by a certified guide born and raised on the island. Have a social and economic impact on local communities, thus bringing sustainability to our activity.

Our Gatro Hike will take us for a walk on one of the Levadas of our island, in an area where you only find nature and don't find the large amount of tourism as in other places. Accessible to most people who visit us, and we can take a walk with 5.5 kms or with only 3.5 kms depending on what our customers prefer. In the end, we ended up next to one of the most emblematic places in our mountains to taste a Poncha (local drink) and learn a little about its history. Then we will taste one of the traditional dishes of our island.

Great experience!

Don't hesitate to set off to discover Madeira with Claudio! We learned a lot, discovered the "levadas," and tasted some Madeiran specialties. The BEST experience in Madeira

Claudio is the perfect guide! We went on the ”Gastro hike” and did not really know what to expect. But Claudio turned it into the best experience EVER at Madeira. He is fun, flexibel, punctual, knowledgeable and the best guide you could wish for. The hike was pleasant and beautiful, the drinks and food excellent. All in all, the best experience we’ve had. Highly recommended!

BEST experience in Madeira ever!

Claudio was the most terrific guide you could think of. The hike was easy and beutiful, the food was excellent but what made the experience 10 out of 5 was the guide. So flexible, generous, knowledgeable (about everything!) and fun. Would not hesitate booking every day at Madeira under his guideance. This is a GEM and the best experience we’ve had at Madeira.

Tour abseits der Touristenpfade mit tollen lokalen Guide

Wir hatten eine wirklich tolle Tour. Claudio ist sogar extra mit uns zum Aussichtspunkt Picco do Arieiro gefahren, da es unser erster Aufenthalt auf Madeira war. Die Wanderung war wunderschön. Das Beste war, dass sie Abseits der üblichen Touristenpfade war. Er konnte uns alle Fragen beantworten und hat uns super Tipps für unseren weiteren Aufenthalt gegeben.
