We provide unique and very personal half day tours of some of the best wine producers in the Languedoc. Tours are for 2 to 6 people maximum and are tailor-made to your requirements. Tours are lead by our own professional and experienced wine expert who will educate and inform you about wine like few other tour guides can do. Unlike other tours we take you into the heart of the vineyards where you can see and touch the actual vines which make the wines you are tasting at that moment. Our special connections get you access to people and vineyards that few outsiders ever see or meet. We also take you to see some of the best kept sites and secrets of the Languedoc. You will come away with your senses brimming with new experiences, smells and flavours.

From April to October our morning tours will leave Carcassonne at 0830 and returning to Carcassonne around 4pm. Lunch is included at either a restaurant or alfresco privately catered at a traditional country manor house Guests are chauffeured privately in a luxury air-conditioned Volvo XC90 4x4 by your expert guide. In the morning guests will visit two different wineries and have the opportunity to taste and discover different wines from some of the most important and notable producers in the region. Your guide will provide a full initiation into the history of the wines of the region, the terroir, an introduction to the art of wine making and how to taste and appreciate wines. After lunch guests will usually have time for one further visit to another winery before returning to Carcassonne. During the tour you will learn about the history of the region as you visit the vineyards and cellars and meet the some of the people behind the wines. During the tour you will learn how to taste and describe wines and to recognise some of the key grape varieties. Guests may opt for a full day gastronomic themed tour in which case a price supplement will apply.

Unless otherwise agreed tours start and finish at Vins et Vinos, The Carcassonne Wine Shop at 38 Rue Barbès. By prior arrangement we are happy to collect you from your gites or hotel if you are staying outside of Carcassonne. Maximum distance 30km from Carcassonne

Alex was so knowledgeable...

Alex was so knowledgeable and professional. We even got to pick our own grapes in addition to the several vineyards and tastings. It was great!

Fabulous vineyard and wine tour experience!

I’ve been on several vineyards tours before but Alex set us up to actually pick grapes and get a chance to meet one of the owners and her family! What a memorable experience! Alex is also extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the vineyard/wine business from planting to harvesting to pressing and fermenting to the various types of wine in the Languedoc. Full day wine tour Minervois

Fabulous day spent touring vineyards of Languedoc (4) and seeing the lovely countryside. Loved the personalised experience of meeting the vineyard owners and hearing about how they use different methods to produce their wines to the highest quality, and trying the different types of wines from each one. Excellent way to get to know the regions and the local wines

An excellent day spent in the supremely knowledgeable Alex. We went for the full day version which included lunch (and wines). What makes the trip so enjoyable (apart from the various wine tastings) is Alex’s encylopaedic knowledge of wine and the local area. I’m not a wine buff but even I can remember what we drank and the different grape varieties! Well worth doing and I would thoroughly recommend the full day trip.

Amazing wine tasting experience

Alex is an incredibly knowledgeable host. We had a fabulous half day with him visiting vineyards in the Limoux region, followed by an exceptional lunch of cheese and charcuterie whilst Alex shared some very unusual regional wines with us. If you don't have time to take a trip with him then a visit to his shop is a must.
