Description
Good to Know
In just a few minutes, you’ll discover the cultural meaning of mate, learn how to prepare it, and of course, taste it. It’s a moment to pause, guided by a local, that connects you with the heart of Buenos Aires in a simple and authentic way.
Mate, bombilla (straw), yerba (herbal tea leaves), hot water, bizcochos (Argentine pastries), and a unique gift!
Tea and coffee
Coffee and/or Tea
In this Mate Break in Buenos Aires, you’ll dive into one of the most authentic and everyday rituals of Argentine culture.
Learn how to prepare mate step by step, just like we do at home: how to set it up, what tools you need, the little secrets, and why it’s usually something we share with others. As you taste it, you’ll also discover the history of mate, its role in Argentine daily life, and how it differs from the way it’s enjoyed in Uruguay or Paraguay.
Even though mate is traditionally shared among several people, in this experience each participant will have their own personal mate cup and straw. That way, you can enjoy it comfortably and hygienically while still keeping the spirit of the ritual alive.
This experience is perfect if you’re looking for something local, real, and short. You won’t find it in a coffee shop, because mate is something we share with friends or family, and that’s exactly what we invite you to do!
It’s ideal to add to your Buenos Aires itinerary without taking too much time. You’ll leave with new flavors, stories… and the inspiration to prepare mate wherever you go!

45 MINUTES MATE FULL IMMERSION
This Experience Is run by Veronica (Betty and Marcelo daughter). I confess that before this Experience my information about mate was very poor. This mate Experience Is fantastic....now I can prepare a mate for myself thanks to Veronica suggestions. For all. ....also lots of fun and above not the "classic boring" food Experience. .,.after this Experience I warmly suggest ti continue with Asado Experience. Thank you Veronica.
