Tour 2 unique shrines in Komaki, which were built between 500-1000 years ago. At these Shinto shrines, local people pray for safe childbirth, prosperity for their descendants, and a good harvest. The Tagata Jinja Shrine, in particular, is famous for the annual Honen Festival, a traditional fertility festival that is held every year on March 15th. Experience Location
Komaki City is located just north of Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture. It is known as the home to Tagata Jinja Shrine, the infamous site of the Honen Festival, which is an annual fertility festival that features portable shrines topped with massive, phallic-shaped structures. Lovers of nature and traditional architecture should check out Mt. Komaki, which is topped by Komaki Castle, and offers stunning views of sakura (cherry blossom) trees blooming in spring. The Komaki City Historical Museum is a haven for history buffs, with suits of samurai armor and other well-preserved relics.
