What You’ll Experience

Ever walked into a French fromagerie and had no idea what to order? Learn how to choose, order and taste French cheese like a local on a walk with me. I’ve spent years studying French cheese through the eyes of both an art historian and a chef. On this 2.5-hour walking tour, I’ll show you how to navigate a French cheese counter like a local and, most importantly, discover what you actually like to eat. We’ll visit 3 authentic Parisian fromageries and stop for 4 curated cheese picnics along the way. You’ll taste 7-8 different French cheeses. Between Notre Dame and Marais you’ll discover the main families of French cheese and, most importantly, how to choose cheese like a local. From there, we set off on a wild journey through the regions of France: from Burgundy and Provence to the Loire Valley, Auvergne, Savoie and Occitanie. We’ll try them all: soft cheeses, goat cheeses, washed-rind cheeses, pressed cheeses, blue cheeses and, even a cheese that I never tried and discover its flavor profile (there are 2000 in France!). After this tour you will have discovered a very French side of Paris that most visitors never see. Welcome to France. I think you’re French enough now. ;)
