Her family managed a restaurant for 15 years, so she is very acquainted with providing great food and service to the international tourist community. Sofia is eager to share everything she has learned during the last 15 years of her hosting.

What You’ll Experience

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Meet Sofia and Joaquim in their cozy home in beautiful Evora and enjoy a quiet culinary experience in Sofia's beautiful garden. They will welcome you to their outdoor kitchen which is decorated with traditional Portuguese pottery and cooking utensils, and offer a step-by-step cooking class. Where you will learn to make traditional Portuguese dishes from an expert. Expect a fun, dynamic cooking class, with a lot of interesting cultural and historical facts about Portugal's cuisine. One of the highlights of the experience will be Sofia's cooking demonstration: preparing smoked sausages on a special “assadeira” clay dish. The result: an incredibly tasty surprise. You will also try local wine from nearby vineyards, giving you a true taste of local life and culinary traditions.
