Our Traditional Plitvice Lakes Cooking Class is not just about learning to cook – it’s a soulful experience. Join the family in the warmth of our countryside home as we guide you through the preparation of authentic Plitvice and Lika dishes, using time-honored recipes and techniques. But don’t worry – this isn’t a strict cooking lesson. It’s full of laughter, the scent of fresh herbs, the crackle of firewood, and heartfelt conversation over a glass of homemade rakija. Together we’ll knead, chop, stir – and most importantly – enjoy. Every dish is infused with a touch of the past and our love for this land. And as you cook with us, you become a part of that story.

An Experience Not to Be Missed Experience the tastes and aromas of the Plitvice region through an authentic outdoor cooking workshop, set in the warm, rustic surroundings of our home. We begin our culinary journey with a traditional welcome – homemade brandy, liqueurs, and local cheeses. Together, we prepare traditional dishes over an open fire: bread and meat under the bell (lamb and veal), roasted vegetables, a fresh seasonal salad, and creamy polenta. We also fry sweet fritters, served with homemade jams. You’ll take part in every step of the preparation – from kneading the dough to seasoning the meat – and finally, we all sit down together to enjoy a rich, homemade meal. This workshop offers more than just food – it brings together people, tradition, and nature in an unforgettable experience.

Plitvice Cooking Class - The Highlight Of Our Trip

For over 4 hours, we were treated like family by Lidija, Marko, and their son Karlo. Everything from the unique preparation, fresh ingredients, presentation, food, beer, wine, stories and laughter were so completely authentic and delivered with genuine love for what they do. For any of our friends who ever visit Croatia, please remember to add this to your itinerary after spending a day in the national park in Plitvice.
