Experience Details

In the labyrinthine streets of Tokyo's business districts, a unique breed of professional thrives–the Japanese salaryman. With a fusion of dedication, discipline, and a dash of idiosyncrasy, the salaryman culture is a captivating facet of Japan's modern identity. Experience a night out as a Japanese salaryman with this Shimbashi night food tour! Visit hidden drinking dens, izakayas (Japanese gastropubs), and authentic ramen restaurants in Shimbashi–one of Tokyo’s central business districts. Nestled conveniently between the upscale shopping districts of Ginza and the business center of Marunouchi, Shimbashi is not just a place; it's a strategic crossroads where commerce, culture, and culinary delights converge. The neighborhood's iconic railway station is a critical transit hub, ensuring the area remains in constant motion, much like the salarymen and women it caters to. The first stop on this guided “salaryman” food tour is a small Japanese izakaya, where quality trumps quantity–but never fear, you won’t be leaving hungry! You’ll be feasting on a 6 dish izakaya course and an all-you-can-drink bar featuring a range of Japanese sake, beer, and other alcoholic beverages. The izakaya course menu includes: Appetizers: Boiled seasonal vegetables, potato salad, deep-fried and soaked aubergine Hot dish: Deep-fried oysters and tofu Sashimi: Assorted sashimi (tuna, vinegared mackerel, flatfish, etc.) Fried food: Snow crab croquettes, tempura (prawns, rape blossoms, shiitake mushrooms, etc.) Sake snacks: Japanese delicacies (crab miso, etc.) Grilled dish: Saikyo-yaki (grilled fish) of gindara cod Next stop, ramen! After you’ve filled up on izakaya food, your trusty guide will take you to a top-notch ramen joint. You’ll have a choice between various types of ramen including pork, seafood, soy sauce, salt, vegetable, and beyond.
