Experience the pure bliss of this amazing experience in one of the most exclusive natural spring water locations, the springs at San Filippo. The calciferous formations, waterfalls and small not deep pools of hot and cold water surrounded by the woods, just inside the small town of Bagni San Filippo in the Val d’Orcia, will seem like you're in another world. Here the water reaches 48C. You have 3 hours to spend in this marvelous natural paradise followed by a wine tasting and Brunello di Montalcino or Montepulciano wines

Please note: the natural springs are set amongst woodoland, the pathway to them is uneven and there are no changing facilities or toilets.
It is important to bring your own towel.
The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions

The day trip will start at the station of Florence. The driver/guide will be there to pick you up at 10:00am at the beginning of the platform number 16 in Santa Maria Novella central station in Florence. Then he will drive you straight to the 'Bagni di San Filippo' Natural Spring which is approximately two hours from Florence. If you follow the path further into the woods, you reach the massive formation of calcium and waterfall that has earned the nickname of the “White Whale”. Bagni San Filippo in the Orcia valley. To access the wild Fosso Bianco pools, there is an slightly uneven easy five minute walk down into the valley will get you to the wild pools. The best time to do so is from April to October. It is advisable to bring a towel and walking shoes. There is not facility at the hot spring but our driver will show you the local bar/ restaurant which you can use to change yourself and get something delicious to eat and drink. You will have 3 hours to relax at the Hot Spring of San Filippo. Around 3:30 pm we will get ready to go for a wine tasting in Montalcino or Montepulciano The departure is at 5:00pm back to the same station in Florence.

Book this unique experience!

Incredible and unique experience. The hot springs were relaxing and scenic. Our lunch was one of the best meals of our entire trip! Lovely winery experience that was both delicious and informative with a snack. Our ride was cool in the air conditioning. A wonderful day that was full, yet still relaxing and a break from all the walking the rest of our trip. Highly recommend!

Very enjoyable day with a friendly and informative guide

We loved the hot springs and the setting along a river in the woods and found a small pool at a perfect temeperature for a long soak. The wine tasting at a small family vineyard was a pleasant way to round out the day and a nice introduction to the wines of Montalcino. Matteo was and excellent guide and driver - we enjoyed his insights into the countyside and hid frindly and professional manner. Highly recommended.

Best day of our trip so far

We loved our day trip to the Bagni Di San Filippo. Matteo was accomodating and allowed us to meet closer to our hotel, he drove us to the hot springs and accompanied us all the way to the bottom, he gave great suggestions and even took us to see the neighbouring town of Montalcino. We will keep him in mind next time we are in Tuscany as he was delightful and we would love to do another tour with him. Highly recommend!

Natural springs tour

An amazing private tour done by our guide Matteo. It was an authentic experience of the Italian countryside apart from the springs. With a stop at one of the finest wineries of the town. In a nutshell it was money well spent!

Fantastic day with an amazing guide!

We spent the day as a group of 4 with our tour guide Matteo and met with him at around 10am. The 2hr drive to Bagni natural springs was comfortable and we stopped for refreshments about half way through. The springs were absolutely amazing and leaving early definitely makes a difference as it was relatively quiet when we got there.
