Description

Good to Know

We have selected 4 local chefs. Those are the best choice for guests who want to enjoy and learn how to cook tasty dishes from the Mugello Valley and from Tuscany. Besides their unquestionable cooking pedigree we have chosen those chefs as they shares its mission of giving guests the most authentic sustainable cooking experience without overlooking quality and comfort. Location: We have chosen an organic agritourism both for its beauty and for the passion of its owner, Laura, who will make you feel at home.

Our Tuscany truffle hunt and cooking class is a wonderful half-day tour focused on Tuscan truffle. You will start with an exciting truffle hunt, guided by a truffle expert and by the nose of his faithful dog. Once you have finished you’ll learn how to use truffle in the kitchen preparing a delicious 3-course lunch at an organic farm just a few km from Florence. Tuscany truffle hunt and cooking class take place in the Mugello Valley near Florence. This particular area of Tuscany is fortunate enough to produce a variety of truffles throughout the year. Thus there’s always a good chance of finding truffles in our selected areas. The protagonist of the truffle hunting is certainly the dog that patiently scours the woods sniffing for truffles. Suddenly the dog begins to scratch the ground thus attracting the attention of his master. The truffle hunter instead with his “small hoe” delicately enlarges the little hole just indented by the dog. He then gently extracts the truffle from the ground and rewards the dog.

Wonderful experience!

What a great way to spend a blustery winter day! We found 71 gm of black truffle, created delicious pasta, and enjoyed a beautiful lunch with new friends! Highly recommend!

Truffle Hunting & Pasta Making

Transportation from Florence can be provided. Everybody was courteous and helpful. We took a ride out of the city and into the mountains. The scenery was beautiful. The guide and the dog found multiple truffles. The pasta making class was fun and informative. Because a white truffle had been found recently, we were able to taste both white and black truffles. This is experience is definitely worth doing.

The BEST!!!!!!

This was one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. We did the truffle hunting, pasta making class, and then ate the truffles we found and the pasta we made. Alyssa was so sweet and amazingly accommodating and Mario (the chef) made us feel right at home. The lunch was honestly one of the best meals I have ever had. A once and a lifetime experience! Best to rent a car or order a ride in advance.

Most spectacular day of our two week trip to Italy!

What an amazing day we had on our truffle hunt and cooking class! We spent two weeks in Italy and our day at Mugello&Tuscany was certainly a highlight. My mom (80) and son (24) and I were picked up by Carmen at the train station in Florence and driven to the most gorgeous farm about 45 minutes away. It was a little drizzly weather-wise but they even provided boots for everyone and raincoats! I was concerned about the walk for mom as she has some mobility challenges, but both our guide and ou...read more
