Good to Know

Your host is an acknowledged wine expert and wine tour guide with 35 years of experience and an in depth knowledge of wine and wine making across the world. The tasting takes place in the comfort of our air-conditioned wine shop in the heart of Carcassonne old town and is designed to be fun and informal. You will have a talk and presentation of six to eight wines to taste accompanied by a light cheese and charcuterie platter. Guests will learn how to taste wines, the local wine history of the region and all about wine making and grape varieties. Ask as many questions as you like and become an expert on the wines of the region. Although the minimum booking is for two people, single guests are welcome to join tastings that are already planned. Please send a message to enquire about available dates if you are a single visitor and want to join a tasting.

A tutored tasting of six to eight different wines from across the Languedoc. For private groups we can tailor-make a selections of wines to suit your taste and budget.

A relaxed and informal tasting and tutorial that covers some of the top wine producers from the Languedoc and Roussillon. Sitting comfortable at the tasting tables in our air-conditioned room you will learn how to appreciate wine and to taste like a professional; how to match wine with a selection of regional food; learn to recognise the key flavours and aromas in wine and discover what makes the Languedoc one of the most exciting wine regions on Earth today. We cover the history of wine making from the Romans to the present day and discuss key topics such as sustainability, organic and natural wines and the influence of regionality on wine flavour. We will discover what makes these the Languedoc so interesting by tasting some of the key local varietal wines and some of the greatest languedoc blends. You will taste between 6 and 8 different wines accompanied by a light selection of local cheeses, charcuterie, olives, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and freshly baked bread. . These tastings are conducted in English, French or Spanish.

Highly recommend this tasting if you’re interested in learning more about the wines of Languedoc-Roussillon while enjoyi

This was definitely one of the highlights of our wine tastings during our trip to France. The two-hour educational tasting was excellent, and our host really knew his stuff. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and did a great job highlighting the Languedoc-Roussillon region, including specific producers and the different styles of wine being made there. Excellent wine tasting within Carcassone

Just booked a couple of days in advance, a great experience: Alex was great as host, friendly and v knowledgeable and facilitated a warm atmosphere with all guests who were strangers before.
