Our friend group did this cooking class together on our first trip to Japan and the ladies were both so sweet and helpful. Everything we learned to make was much easier than expected and the printed instructions are so easy for us to follow at home for a delicious traditional meal.

Our group had so much fun with Yuka and her associates. All of the prep work was done ahead of time so that we were ready to go when we got there. She took care to make sure it was a positive experience for everyone. While the food was beautiful, it seemed possible to prepare it in a home kitchen as long as you have access to the ingredients. We communicated easily in English. You do a lot of forming the final products, but not as much of the actual cooking, so it is a little less hands on than some classes I have been to in the past. However, I don't think it would be possible to make so many dishes in just 2.5 hours otherwise. Yuka does send a Google Maps address ahead of time. It is the correct one as a sort of demonstration kitchen of the restaurant. It is not, however, the actual restaurant, so don't get confused and go to the wrong place.

Huge thanks to Kaori for hosting us at her wagashi school. We learnt how to make Dango, strawberry 🍓 Daifuku and wagashi. Also had them with matcha the traditional way and hojicha tea after. She was really patient with us and we were there for 3 hrs. It was a fun activity to do with my 12yr old daughter and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Kaori also shared she does kids classes and will be teaching onigiris next. She gifted us tea and calligraphy and we could take home leftovers after the class. Can't wait to be back on our next trip. Her plc is not far from Mitaka station and is near Ghibli museum so def worth a trip if u r in the area.

Alina, our guide, was truly exceptional. She had a wealth of knowledge about wonderful vegan experiences in the Ginza area of Tokyo. She also shared her insights into Japanese culture and history that gave us new insights and appreciation for this wonderful country. What a lovely experience! Soshin-san was so welcoming and hosted a wonderful private tea ceremony for my friend and I. She went through the process twice allowing us to familiarize ourselves, and then gave us multiple opportunities to make our own matcha. Soshin-san was always friendly and spoke English well to guide us. It was a delightful time and we got good photos and delicious tea. I would definitely recommend booking this experience!

We really enjoyed learning how to make nerikiri wagashi from Yasue, who is a skilled and knowledgeable teacher. The class was a highlight of our trip to Kyoto, and we look forward to returning to learn more wagashi designs in the future!

We had a great experience! It can be about more than just the snacks, thankfully. Our guide asked about our interest level and, with that confirmed, shared her extensive knowledge of Japanese customs as ate our desserts. Two things to know: this is really a walk around the shrine, not a neighborhood tour. If you arrive early, do not explore the shrine; instead, wander through the surrounding streets. Also, the desserts were wonderful but it is really a mochi tour. We love mochi in all its forms so it worked well for us. However, if you don't, you may want to note that in your booking so other arrangements can be made. It was a delightful way to spend some time especially since we were starving. Vegan in Japan is the challenge everyone says it will be even with a plan. Our guide was kind to share vegan restaurant recommendations with us. Even with those it was still tricky as we are not used to or inclined to wait in long lines for a table.
