Kintokitei

Sushi
Kintokitei is a vegan-friendly restaurant in Gotemba where you can enjoy your meal with a view of Mt. Fuji.
Restaurant Details
Outside of Tokyo, it can be difficult to find Japanese restaurants that readily accommodate dietary restrictions, such as vegetarian, vegan or halal diets.
Which is why it's so surprising that all of these would be accommodated in a single restaurant in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Extremely popular with visitors to Mount Fuji, Kintokitei has established a reputation for itself by providing menu options for vegan, vegetarian and halal diners.
The menu is extensive for both those with and without dietary restrictions, incorporating several different seasonal set menus and an a la carte menu that encompasses the full gamut of Japanese cuisine, from tempura to soba to sashimi. The restaurant's signature dish is kamameshi, a traditional Japanese dish involving rice cooked in an iron kettle with several different types of ingredients.
The restaurant also goes above and beyond to accommodate halal diners in particular — it has dedicated prayer rooms, separated by men and women. The biggest surprise? A special halal wagyu course — available only for preorder.
