Sushi Enami
All the best elements of Tokyo-style sushi are brought to Sendai (with a few creative modifications) at this 2017 Michelin-starred sushiya.
Restaurant Details
Sushi Enami is run by a chef from Tokyo who is proficient in the historic art of Edomae sushi. His wife is from Sendai, which is why he found himself moving here and opening one of the city’s best Michelin-starred sushi restaurants (Michelin Guide 2017).
Although he mastered the traditions, he also remixes and plays with them in ways that will keep even seasoned sushi lovers on their toes. Expect novel touches like cherry tomatoes served to cleanse the palate, and inventive dishes like a grilled butterfly fillet of sea eel with sour pickled plums.
Following appetizers like this, you’ll be treated to a series of delectable nigiri featuring fresh seasonal toppings. The fatty tuna nigiri is a burst of umami which can rival even the versions found at top sushi restaurants in Tokyo.
