Good to Know

Going to a home where locals live is already a unique experience. However, if this comes in a style that is a mutual hobby for both hosts and guests, that makes the experience memorable for both the hosts and guests since they both learn a lot from each other. Can & Gaye are a couple living in Bodrum and they have cooking as their passion for long years. This will pretty much be a home cooking class with a great authenticity and cultural exchange. Come visit us, cook, eat and connect with us.

Acknowledgment of Risks: I, acknowledge that participating in this experience offered by LokalBond involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to physical activity, travel, potential hazards, and interaction with individuals and environments that may carry unknown risks. I understand that these risks may result in personal injury, illness, or damage to personal property. 2. Voluntary Participation: I affirm that my participation in this experience is entirely voluntary and that I have been informed about the nature of the experience. Health and Fitness: I certify that I am in good health and physical condition to participate in this experience. I do not have any medical conditions, disabilities, or other concerns that would limit my ability to safely participate. Join Can & Gaye, a couple passionate about Turkish cuisine, as they welcome you into their home for a memorable cooking experience. If you book for the evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail and a colorful spread of meze; small dishes that are the soul of Turkish hospitality. You’ll then dive into preparing hearty main courses such as grilled dishes, rice pilaf, eggplant-based specialties, and more. Dinner will be paired with local wines or rakı; Turkey’s iconic anise-flavored spirit. We’ll share how rakı is traditionally enjoyed, how to drink it properly, and how to appreciate its unique flavor to the fullest. Once the meal is ready, we’ll gather around the table for a true Turkish feast. While we say, "we cook for 2 hours and eat in 10 minutes," you're welcome to savor each bite slowly. It’s all about good food, meaningful conversation, and genuine connection. After the meal, we’ll wind down with more tea, local desserts, and shared stories. Local turkish cooking experience.

Lovely experience on local host house. Wonderful time learning about turkish culinary techniques. Can and his wife were delightful and welcoming. Can also picked us up at hotel and showed us the sights along the way

Amazing experience, food & hosts!

This was an amazing experience. We were able to make and were educated on different types of Turkish cuisine and the overall experience felt very authentic. Our hosts were a lovely, warm and kind couple & you could tell they put alot of effort into making sure our cooking experience was as special as possible which it was! Would highly recommend adding this to your travel itinerary.

A lovely authentic dinning experience

It was lovely to meet Can and Gaye and they were able to give us some local insight into the area. It was different to the other cooking classes we have done and more intimate being in their home. A treat to be back on the raki and I will make the lentil soup, bulgar wheat and koftas when I get home? Also nice to eat food from their allotment!

A Thoroughly Pleasurable Experience Not to be Missed!

To add to my mother's 5-star review, I would like to add that Can & Gaye cooked with their own home grown vegetables, olives, olive oil, pickled artichoke hearts, tomato sauce, pomegranate syrup and more, using all natural organic ingredients to create nutritious delicious dishes.
