Aberdeenshire has many treasures to offer, and we take you on a fabulous private tour to amazing castles, historic areas and a whisky distillery in areas that are stunning as they are interesting. All the castles, are different to each other and cover 1000’s of years of history. This is a private tour for your group only. Suggested itinerary -Dunnottar Castle - one of the world's' most iconic -Crathes Castle - 16th century masterpiece & amazing gardens -Lunch at nice restaurant -Royal Lochnagar Distillery/Glen Garioch Distillery/Fettercairn Distillery for a tasting Tasting tour -Instead of a distillery, Balmoral Castle may be an option (contact us) -Old Aberdeen - Fascinating medieval history Pick up/drop off is included. Access to the castle interiors and Distillery Tasting Tours are subject to seasonal opening times. Access to most castles grounds is free, except Balmoral. You must be over 18 to taste the whisky during the Distillery tour but younger people are welcome.

Most castles are free to see from the outside but charge to go inside.

Whisky Distillery Tasting Tour

Route and timings will depend on starting point and your choice of attractions and time of year.

No meals / snacks / drinks are included in cost

Dunnottar Castle - Free to see from outside. Pay at door if you wish to go inside. No pre booking.

Pick up surcharges - Hotels more that 10mls from Aberdeen city £20, 30-60mls £40. Payable on the day

Crathes Castle - Free to see from outside. Pay at door if you wish to go inside. No pre booking.

Dunnottar Castle

One of Scotland's and the worlds most spectacular castles, Dunnottar is a ruined medieval fortress located upon a rocky headland near Stonehaven. The surviving buildings date back to between the 13th and 16th centuries, but was originally fortified in the Early Middle Ages. You can enjoy this castle for free but an internal tour is chargeable. (£9.50 pp)

Crathes Castle, Garden & Estate

Fascinating 16th Century Castle with turrets, gargoyles, 16th-century painted ceilings and ancient, great yew hedges and walled gardens set in the magnificent surroundings of Royal Deeside. You can enjoy this castle for free but an internal tour is chargeable. (£14.50 pp)

Balmoral Castle

This iconic castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. A must on all visitors to see list. Excellent tour. Driver knew a lot about the Dunnottar Castle as well as Scottish history. The distillery tour was great.

Breathtaking Castles, authentic lunch experience and excellent Whisky tour with an amazing Guide!

Malcom is the man! He's incredibly knowledgeable about Scottish history and takes time to share it as makes sense along the trip. We got so much done during this trip. It was a perfect introduction to Scotland and he even gave us tips where to find dinner and a wee drink after the tour as well. If you book one trip while in Scotland, book with Malcolm!

Super Trip in Aberdeen

Malcolm was a great, knowledgeable tour guide. He was also flexible in changing what sights I wanted to see, even at the last minute. It was a super day exploring Scotland’s castles and local countryside.
