The BEST thing we did in Uzbekistan
We love travel, we love culture and we love food. This plov-making class was simply our best activity during a thumpingly good two week holiday in Uzbekistan. It wasn't simply the class itself, which was great, with delicious plov as a reward for arduous carrot chopping, but everything else.

Authentic Uzbek Experience
We had an amazing time with this family. They are kind, hospitable, and gifted at explaining their cultural traditions in a way that outsiders can understand and appreciate. Not only did we have delicious plov, but they also treated us to a beautiful spread of nuts, fruits, bread, tea, and other snacks. Their courtyard is beautiful and comfortable, and everyone went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed.

Wonderful Evening learning all about Uzbek Culture
4 of us were welcomed into Marjona and Ilhom's beautiful home. We were there for 3-4 hours and had a lot of fun. The family were very welcoming and happy to answer all of our questions about Uzbek culture and family life. We learned so much and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get a taste of real life in Uzbekistan, beyond the typical tourist museums. Thank you Marjona Opa and Ilhom Aka for your generosity and kindness.

A full immerson into Uzbek culture and hospitality
We had a wonderful evening of Uzbek culture and hospitality. My favorite parts were seeing the outfits that brides wear for going out to parties after they are married. She even let us try on some of the head-pieces. Another wonderful part was the treat of a sarenade with a duta,r a two-stringed traditional instrument being played.

Cooking with a friendly Uzbek family
Brilliant and very authentic evening with Marjona and her whole family! It felt like a real view into Uzbek culture
A beautiful and traditional house, with a wonderful demonstration of Osh Plov cooking over a traditional stove.
We also saw how traditional bread is made, as well as hearing a lovely music performance.
