Carefully whisking and serving matcha has long been considered a gesture of hospitality in Japan, and the time-honored method creates a smooth, frothy cup with balanced flavor. In this one-hour class near Shinsaibashi Station in Osaka, guests will learn how to prepare matcha using authentic techniques.
Led by welcoming English-speaking staff, the session introduces the history of matcha, how it differs from other green teas, and the wide variety of matcha enjoyed across Japan.
Guests will practice using traditional tools such as a bamboo whisk and tea bowl, learning the proper way to whisk matcha into a bright, velvety drink.
