Discover France through its wines French wine is one of the best ways to discover France. Hosted by Paul, an English WSET Level 3 wine educator who discovered French wine after moving to France, this experience is designed for curious travellers who want to better understand French wine while enjoying it. Over two hours in the heart of Bayeux, you'll taste six carefully selected wines from classic French appellations, each paired with one of six carefully selected French cheeses. Every wine has been carefully selected to help you understand a different aspect of French wine, from grape varieties and wine styles to the regions and traditions behind every bottle. As you journey through France's wine regions, you'll learn how to taste wine with confidence, recognise different styles and better understand what makes each region unique. Along the way, you'll discover the stories behind the wines, the people who produce them and the traditions that have shaped French winemaking for generations. Whether you're completely new to wine or already enjoy exploring it, this experience offers a welcoming introduction to French wine in a small group of no more than 12 guests.

Definitely worth experiencing!

My husband and I joined sommelier and owner, Paul, for this enjoyable and informative two hour tasting experience. As it was just us two attending, we had great conservations while enjoying Paul's well selected wines from various regions of France paired with excellent cheeses from Normande. We highly recommend this rewarding experience when in Bayeux.

A great find in Normandy!

I was looking for something to do in Bayeux after visiting the D-Day beaches and came across The Wine Tasting Room near the Cathedral. Such a great find! I tasted six French wines paired with cheeses and learned loads without it ever feeling too technical (i'm a bit of a wine novice!). Paul was a brilliant host and the tasting was relaxed and good fun! Definitely recommend if you're visiting Normandy and want to discover more about French wine. Thanks Paul and team!
