A visit to a breeding farm, to discover the impressive Valdichiana calves. You will undertake an authentic journey through the Tuscan rural culture. The Valdichiana is the territory of origin of the Chianina breed, the biggest calf in the world. Don’t you believe us? Seeing is believing. We will take you on a visit to a Chianina breeding farm, where you will closely observe the beauty, the meekness and the grandeur of this magnificent animal with a white mantle. You will discover the history of the Chianina breed and its deep connection with this territory. Today, their meat is considered one of the best in the world. After visiting the farm, you will taste the PGI Chianina meat with a tasting-lunch. The tasting lunch includes salami platter, pasta with Chianina meat sauce, Tagliata di Chianina with rosemary and seasonal vegetables, dessert, water, wine, coffee (Florentine T-bone steak available by request).

Take time to do this tour and eat at the ristorante!

I am SO glad we visited the Fierli family Chianina farm during our recent visit to Umbria and Tuscany. Nico was the ultimate tour guide and host, and we learned so much not only about the Chianina breed, but also about the family history, the farm, how they raise the animals with the utmost care and humaneness - the whole experience on the farm with Nico was riveting, heartwarming and just a lot of fun! We also got to see and feed their Cinta Sinese pigs which was so entertaining and delightful!...read more

Impressive and beautiful creatures

Nowhere in Italy could we find a place to see these giant, impressive, beautiful Chianina cows up close than on this tour to the Fierli Farm outside of Montepulciano. If you have any interest in seeing the sweet, large white cattle (and some pigs on the farm), you should take this tour. Nikola was our guide; he's part of the Fierli family running the farm that dates back to his great grand-father.
