In this tutored gin tasting, led by the Head Distiller, you’ll have the opportunity taste the traditional gin botanicals (Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Orris) as single distillates, training your palette to the individual flavours that make gin…gin. This is an essential skill for any gin connoisseur!
Sample the range of small batch Aberdeen Gin expressions (London Dry and Fruit gins).
Challenge yourself with the mystery single distillate – will you be the first to guess the botanical?
The event concludes with a G&T of your choice – choose any gin from the range or perhaps one of the single distillates you’ve enjoyed during the event.
All of the distillates / gins have been crafted using premium organic alcohol – luxuriously smooth.
Once you’ve finished the tasting you’ll gain the ability to recognise the flavours that make up gin. Take this knowledge home, explore your gin shelves and enjoy your very own tasting with the skills you’ve learned during this Gin Tasting Masterclass.

Join us for Sip & Learn, a relaxed gin tasting where flavour takes centre stage. Whether you're a beginner or a connoisseur, our rotating three-month themes—from exploring "gin terroir" to blending techniques—offer something new for everyone.
What to Expect...
On arrival you'll be checked in, let us know your preferred mixer, and enjoy a perfectly crafted double G&T...or G&L.
The experience is led by the Head Distiller who starts with a brief intro to gin-making, organic spirits, and distilling history, featuring a taste of our exceptionally smooth organic base spirit.
Develop your palate with a guided tasting of single distillates, followed by a fun Mystery Challenge to test your new skills.
Sample a selection of locally distilled gins before choosing a final made-to-order G&T from our range.
With your final drink in hand, the experience concludes with an informal Q&A with the Head Distiller before an invitation to browse the gins and gifts at the distillery shop.

A wonderful afternoon experience with (unsurprisingly) much gin!!
Booked a visit here as part of a company away day. From the outset Dan was extremely helpful over the phone (including dealing with a mixture of requirements and physical abilities in our party). It was therefore no surprise when we arrived to find a wonderfully organised venue and event. A superb visit and Masterclass
We did the City of Aberdeen Distillery gin tasting experience last Thursday. It was a 4pm — 6pm session which was perfect. Two and a bit fascinating and wonderful hours thanks to the expertise of Dan and Allan. Totally opened my mind to what goes into creating a great gin. We were two amongst 16 from around the world enjoying this superb experience. Obviously it helps a lot if you like gin and little point if you are tee total. This class is amazing! You should attend!!
I can’t even tell you how amazing this class is! Even if you don’t like gin, this class is still amazing. It teaches you the deconstructed basics of gin and gives you some unique tastings. The staff (Don and Allen) are super knowledgeable and fun. 5+++ stars!!

One of the best things I have had the pleasure of booking. Dan & Alan are the perfect team and their passion shows. I had an absolute ball. The group was small and we all chatted and laughed. There was a good selection of things to purchase, especially for long haul travel. Thoroughly recommend
