Beautiful views, just know what you are capable of
It was a bit crowded but you can avoid the crowds by going early morning I think. Very beautiful views. Just be wary of what your fitness skill is becuase you have to climb up rocks and ladders and there is a long hike before you get to the skywalk bit.

Good advice. The hike to the Skywalk platform is 2.2km, up stone steps, on uneven ground that has exposed roots and rocks. There is a scramble up rocks requiring agility and balance, another scramble to a platform where you need to climb in a fireman's ladder to get to the Skywalk viewing platform. Be sure this is what you are up for! The reward is beautiful views.

This is demanding hike...
This is demanding hike with numerous steps to get to Castle Rock. Participants should be in good shape. The last part of the climb requires upper body strength and flexibility. The views are worth it upon reaching the top.

The views are worth the hike and the climb. Nature trail, stone steps, exposed roots and rocks; and that's before the scramble through the chasm! Spectacular vistas to the ocean and hinterland are the reward. Thanks for the review.

Local Knowledge Makes All the Difference
Went on the Porongorups Castle Rock trip recently with a passionate and knowledgeable guide who clearly cares deeply about our national parks and her clients. Ironwood Winery was a great way to finish with good food, good drinks, and a good chat.
Tour included pickup and transportation, park pass entry, lunch and wine tasting. An intimate local experience.
Highly recommended.

Lovely excursion with rock-climbing followed by wine-tasting
Had a lovely trip up to the Granite Skywalk with Susan, who was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who could identify all the trees and shrubs we passed, and also good company! The other person who had registered for the trip failed to turn up, so I had her to myself.
We duly reached the Skywalk and I have a photo to prove it though the weather, low-flying wet cloud, was not optimal.

Beverley it was a great day out! Even though the cloud was low and we walked in dampness, the bushland was beautiful. Our guides are always keen to pass you on to other operators and experiences to make sure you gain the most from your time in Albany. Happy travels.

Highly recommend if you like a good walk with a little scramble at the end.
Wow quite a challenge but doable and very interesting. Susan was a terrific guide her knowledge extensive and we learned a lot. She oozes passion for her state and we really enjoyed the walk, wine and lunch. Thank you.
