Experience Details

Bring the whole family for this unique exploration of Kyoto’s gourmet, history, and culture!

You’ll start your tour at Nishiki Market, one of Kyoto’s quintessential gourmet hubs. The market evolved from its humble beginnings over 400 years ago and now comprises over 130 stalls selling local specialties, usually bustling with visitors looking for fresh foods.

Precisely because the market is so popular, the crowds can be challenging to navigate, but your guide will lead you through smoothly, stopping along the way to sample some of its most famous street foods, like tempura, oysters, and senbei rice crackers.

After that, you’ll visit the nearby Nishiki Tenmangu, a small shrine near Nishiki Market. Here, your guide will teach you the correct etiquette when visiting a shrine, and you can take an omikuji fortune slip and write your wishes on an ema wooden plaque if you’d like to.

This shrine is known for its unique and traditional omikuji stall, eye-catching paper lanterns, and long history of over 1,000 years.

The final stop will be Kyoto’s Samurai Ninja Museum, where you will see exhibits of samurai armor, weapons, and katana swords and enjoy immersive activities.

You can dress up in samurai armor and enjoy ninja games and activities, like throwing ninja stars (shuriken), a favorite for kids and Japanese history lovers alike!
