Experience Details

Nagoya is known for housing an impressive castle, being a major industrial hub, and producing a savory variety of miso paste used in plenty of dishes to add a dash of umami and depth of flavor. While in Nagoya, go beyond merely trying this star ingredient and challenge yourself to learn how to cook with it! In this cooking class, you’ll learn to make ramen, perhaps Japan’s most famous noodle dish, with a miso base and plenty of vegetables. Guided by local hosts, you’ll learn how to balance your dish to achieve a perfect harmony of flavors as you get hands-on in making ramen.


After the cooking session, enjoy your meal with your host, a knowledgeable local who will share insights on Nagoya and travel tips. Equipped with your newly found ramen knowledge, you’ll take home the expertise to make delicious homemade ramen anytime.


Experience flow:

- Meet your host at the kitchen studio and prepare for cooking (~10 min)

- Start the cooking session: Make miso ramen with guidance from your host (~50 min)

-Enjoy the dish you created (~30 min)

  • Meeting place: Nagoya City Higashi Lifelong Learning Center 3 minutes walk from Shinsakae-machi Station (7 minutes from Nagoya Station by train.) More detailed information and a Google Maps link will be provided upon booking.
