Guided tours on the production of Olive Oil. Papadomanolakis family, the producers of “Pallada” extra virgin olive oil, welcome you to their olive oil mill and introduce you to their authentic olive oil experiences. The people behind an industry born from years of family tradition, passion and expertise share their knowledge about the very finest extra virgin olive oil, known throughout the world as pure liquid gold.

A walk through an olive grove, a visit to our olive mill facilities, olive oil tasting, salad treat.

The guided tour includes: -A walk at Pallada Kèpos, a small botanical park created among olive groves. On site you will find native herbs and flowers of Crete, a small vegetable garden and several greek olive tree varieties. We will talk about the trees, the olive fruit and learn about the cultivation and the harvest process. -A visit to our olive mill facilities We will walk among our modern factory production equipment, explaining in detail all the phases of olive oil production. -Olive oil tasting We will learn how to taste an extra virgin olive oil. We will taste 4 different olive oils and distinguish their differences. -Traditional cretan treat Guests will enjoy a delicious dish, made of cretan quality products that will end the visit leaving a good taste.

Great tour of the orchard and tasting

We had a great time doing a tour of the small olive orchard and then the processing area. We all learned quite a bit about how olive oil is made, and how there are different kinds of olive trees with different properties. Our guide farmer Bill answered all of our questions! The tasting was also quite fun, we sampled one generic olive oil and then three that they produce, and the guide taught us how to distinguish them. Fun and Delicious!

We had an unexpected change in itinerary and wanted to do something fun in Chania. This was a perfect afternoon activity! Our guide was knowledgeable and it was so interesting to see how olive oil is cultivated and produced. We had a wonderful and informative tasting, and the olive oil snack was delicious. We highly recommend this trip, and had oil shipped back for family gifts!

Fabulous, one of the best things from my trip

One of the best things I did in Crete! Fascinating to go from the grove to the machinery to the olive oil tasting. Bill (I won't be able to spell his Greek name) was a WONDERFUL tour guide, answering my question and sharing some of his personal life experience as an olive grower. I went in shoulder season and had the tour to myself. Couldn't recommend highly enough!
