Maribor is the second largest city in Slovenia. It is also the capital city of the traditional region of Lower Styria. The lovely architecture and the river Drava makes it even more attractive. In Lent – a part of the city you will admire the oldest vine in the world. Of course we will taste some good wines in one of the local wine cellars. The visit of Ptuj – the oldest Slovenian town and its castle on the hill will make this tour even more special and worth to remember.

The Maribor wine road starts in the centre of Maribor by the Old Vine in the area of Lent. In the summer, the site hosts a two-week festival – the Lent Festival. The wine road leads through Kamnica with St. Urban at almost 600 m of altitude, Kalvarija, Mestni vrh, Piramida, Meljski hrib, Vodol, Malečnik and Celestrina all the way to Nebova. It touches the eastern edge of Slovenske Gorice – to Korena and Vurberk that stand above the River Drava and the Drava plain.

A very meaningful tour that would be loved by all those people that take it with Karin.

We had a great experience with Karin touring Ptuj, Maribor, and wine testing. Karin was very patient and took us to all the sites we want to see. She was pleasant and responsive to our requests. She’s great to lead tours of beautiful places like those and very knowledgeable.
