Tequila Tour

Operating Schedule: Estimated route: 9 : 55 hrs - Our meeting point is C. Aurelio Aceves 225, Vallarta Poniente (Outside the Hotel Fiesta Americana Minerva) the starting point. 10 : 00 hrs - Start of the tour to the Tequila Route. (by bus) 11 : 30 hrs - Sightseeing tour in an artisan distillery and explanation of the process of production of tequila (cooking, fermentation and distillation). 12 : 00 - Tasting of artisanal Tequila. 13 : 00 hrs - Tour of the Magic Town of Tequila and free time to eat. 3 : 00 hrs - Distillery tour of La Rojeña de José Cuervo. (additional cost) 17 : 00 hrs - Return to downtown Guadalajara (Historical Center, Minerva, Expo Guadalajara) *Tentative itinerary. Some activities may vary.

Stop 1

C. Aurelio Aceves 225

Glorieta de La Minerva is one of the most emblematic symbols of Guadalajara, Jalisco. Located at one of the city’s main intersections, this majestic roundabout houses an imposing sculpture of the Roman goddess Minerva, protector of wisdom and war. The statue, 8 meters high, is surrounded by fountains and gardens, creating a visually stunning environment. Opened in 1956, it is a key gathering point for sporting and cultural celebrations. Inscriptions on its base honor the bravery of Guadalajara, making it a place that combines history, tapatio pride and architectural beauty.

Paisaje Agavero

The artisanal tequila factory on the Tequila Route is a place where the tradition and art of tequila production are kept alive. Here, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the ancestral process that gives rise to tequila, from the harvest of the blue agave to its transformation into the emblematic Jalisco drink. The tour begins in the agave fields, where the work of the jimadores, experts who select and cut agave pineapples with skill, is shown. In the factory, traditional methods take centre stage: pineapples are slowly cooked in stone or brick ovens, releasing the natural sugars that will give body to tequila. Subsequently, the must is fermented in small wooden tubs and distilled in copper stills, ensuring a small batch production that highlights the authentic flavors.

El Arenal

The Arenal, known as "The Agavero Landscape Gate", is a picturesque village located in the heart of Jalisco, on the Tequila Route. Surrounded by blue agave fields, this place is a key point in the history and production of tequila. Its quiet atmosphere and streets full of tradition invite you to enjoy the local culture. Among its main attractions are family distilleries, where artisan methods are preserved.

Amatitán

Authentic tequila chants is the iconic Route 43 chants, located on the road in a festive and traditional atmosphere. This popular destination offers a unique experience with its specialty: the little songs, prepared in clay jugs with tequila, fresh citrus juices, salt and ice, crowned with a touch of grapefruit soda. The place is distinguished by its vibrant Mexican decor and a relaxed setting that invites you to share with friends. It is the perfect place to taste tequila in its most refreshing and authentic form.

Campos de Agave Jose Cuervo

The Agavero Landscape of the Tequila Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a unique natural and cultural spectacle in the world. This vast territory, located in Jalisco, is covered by blue agave fields that extend in perfect symmetry to the horizon, surrounded by hills and mountains. It is a living tribute to the tequilera tradition, where the agave flourishes as a symbol of Mexican identity. Among the plantations, historical haciendas and distilleries that preserve the legacy of tequila stand out. This landscape not only reflects beauty, but also the connection between man and the earth.

Tequila Magic Village, in Jalisco, is the birthplace of the iconic drink that bears its name and a destination that combines history, tradition and spectacular landscapes. Surrounded by extensive fields of blue agave, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this picturesque place captivates with its cobblestone streets, colorful facades and a vibe full of life. Its main square, with the Parish of St. James the Apostle, is the heart of the village, while its distilleries offer tours to know the process of tequila. With its rich cuisine, crafts and vibrant culture, Tequila is an unforgettable experience.

Mural Pueblo Mágico de Tequila

The Tequila mural, located within the Municipal Presidency, is a masterful work that captures the historical, cultural and productive essence of this Magical Town. Created by the artist José Manuel Martínez Valadez, the mural is a tribute to the legacy of tequila, the agavera tradition and the people who give it life. The work highlights the production process of tequila, from the harvest of the agave to its distillation, framed by scenes of the daily and festive life of the region. It also celebrates the jimadores, guardians of this tradition, and the pre-Hispanic deities linked to the agave. Vibrant colors and meticulous details make this mural a symbol of identity and pride for Tequila.

Tequila and Jose Cuervo

A magical little town that you absolutely have to visit; party, tasting, and knowledge. We had Ronny as a guide, an excellent guide. Always recommending the best and helping us with photos.

Excellent tour!

Excellent tour, we went to 2 distilleries, sampled many tequilas, made some new friends, had a fun day. I would have liked a little more time to explore the town of Tequila, but I can always go back on my own. This tour was easily worth the price.
