San Gimignano

Enjoy a stroll around the medieval tower topped town of San Gimignano, another of Italy's great World Heritage sites, with time to explore the delightful cobbled streets and piazzas. The town is renowned for its white Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine and has also reintroduced the farming of saffron which was cultivated here in the Middle Ages as an important part of the city’s economy. Best tour guide of our trip!

Valter is amazing. He speaks perfect English, for which we were grateful since we do not speak Italian. He is knowledgeable and a wonderful tour guide. He suggests stops and photo opportunities (like this famous bridge near Lucca). For us he went above and beyond to help us find an old family home. He took extra time and contacted friends. We would recommend him to anyone and would definitely use him again!
