Conveniently located in the heart of Kyoto is one of the city’s finest kappo restaurants. Gion Kida is almost always expecting big-name guests who are obsessed with the kappo cuisine it serves.
The menu is only the omakase course, which switches up almost every day based on what is available to be sourced for the day. In winter, keep an eye out for fugu shirako as that’s one of the most popular dishes of Gion Kida. Others like crab, nigiri and awabi.
The setting of the restaurant is nothing short of elegant. If you don’t fancy the counter seats, Gion Kida has more than a few private rooms that are great for gathering with friends or even a quiet evening meal.
