Drawn by the bond between the earth, its history and its ancestors, Kitashinchi Hanayagi invites diners to rediscover the joy of connection through its seasonal courses.

Restaurant Details

Dubbed the Ginza of Osaka, Kitashinchi dazzles as a social hotspot for high-end shopping and dining experiences, yet it's easy to mingle without thinking much about the connections made. Kitashinchi Hanayagi is inviting diners to think differently: to discover the joy of connection and, in a way, of living itself.

A welcome respite from the glimmering street, the restaurant limits reservations to just four groups per day to ensure exceptional service and food quality. The owner-chef trained for 17 years at traditional ryotei in Kyoto and Osaka before becoming independent for another 18 years. Since opening Kitashinchi Hanayagi in 2014, he has dedicated himself to forging a deeper bond between guests and Japan’s culinary culture through the language of his exquisite dishes.

He strives to create dishes that encapsulate Japan’s cultural heritage, pay homage to the country’s rich natural bounty, and transcend language barriers. On the menu, the highly lauded A5-ranked Kobe beef sukiyaki with seasonal vegetables and seafood is the most popular course. Seasonal fare ranges from wild vegetables and sea bream for spring, ayu (sweetfish) and eel in summer, matsutake mushrooms with pike conger, or hamo, for autumn, and fugu (pufferfish) and crab for winter, all prepared with innovative methods only a craftsman with 35 years of experience could create.

Sake novices and connoisseurs alike will enjoy the lineup of rare and limited-edition sake. Tatami seating in the private rooms further enriches the atmosphere, perfect for small groups of friends and family eager to expand their senses.
