Restaurant Details
"Everything I serve in my restaurant has to be delicious," says the owner of Kozushi. It's a simple statement that perfectly sums up this beloved Otaru sushi shop. Since Kozushi means good sushi, you’re sure to find it here.
Kozushi is popular with locals and travelers who are willing to venture off the main sushi street called Otaru Sushiya Street. The family-run restaurant has a rich history, with the current owner carrying on Edomae sushi traditions passed down from his father. Honoring his words to ensure everything is delicious, the owner prepares everything in-house, from the sushi rice and soy sauce to the pickled ginger.
Guests can expect a diverse menu featuring classic nigiri sushi alongside the visually striking chirashi ("scattered" sushi). For a more casual option, the assorted sashimi is a popular snack choice, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to fresh, high-quality seafood. Just as the name suggests and to the owner’s delight, Kozushi is the home of good, if not great, sushi.
