Restaurant Details

In the modern part of Kyoto, to the west of the river, is a kaiseki restaurant curated by a master of all things Japan. The owner gained over a decade of experience in kaiseki kitchens before opening his own place, and he also studied the traditional Japanese arts, holding qualifications across a range of disciplines including tea ceremony. He uses this knowledge to create a dining experience that truly represents these ancient arts and the culture they sprang from. The interior is designed to help him in this task, arranged in the style of an old Edo-era tea room. The dimly lit space has classic Japanese paintings hanging behind the counter, and antique serving ware arranged on the counter. The 2022 Michelin-starred menu here changes with the seasons, so it’s difficult to predict what you will be treated to on any given day. The sea urchin sushi roll is a specialty however, so count yourself lucky if you get a chance to try this delectable dish. Michelin Guide: 2022 - 1 Michelin Star
