Vermillion is a nice cafe located on the shores near Fushimi Inari Taisha and the shop’s name is influenced by the color of the shrine’s torii gates. Feast your eyes on the cafe’s stylish interior, taking its inspiration from the image of Melbourne coffee shops, where the owners spent nearly 20 years. The cafe acts as a bright entrance to a charming scene, overflowing with trees from the sacred forest adjacent to the shrine. Take pleasure in the peaceful nature, and have a sip of the locally made light roast coffee with refreshing acidity. The beans are brought from Kyoto’s popular roaster, “Weekenders,” and it blends well in the latte drinks. Other menu items include light meals for brunches or snacks, such as granola or sandwiches; and “Vermillion Plate,” the chef’s take on English breakfast. You can also enjoy visually pleasing and delicious sweets like date pudding, matcha cakes, or home-made granola with fruits. Vermillion Cafe is open for business from 9 AM to 5 PM.
