Experience Details
While sushi making is, in many ways, an art of precision, that doesn't mean it can't be fun. This interactive sushi-making class in central Tokyo proves that learning to assemble maki and nigiri can be educational and entertaining. You'll learn more about Japanese traditional food culture, hone your sushi-making skills, and share a fun time with your hosts and other participants over a delicious sushi meal.
To start your sushi-making journey, you'll wash your hands and change into sushi chef attire before your instructor makes a special appearance on the stage. You'll then enjoy an ice-breaker to get to know each other before learning all about sushi etiquette and history through quizzes and trivia covering Japanese traditions and the proper way to eat sushi.
Then, it'll be time to get hands-on making nigiri following your host's demonstrations, as well as instructional videos. Once you have plenty of practice and feel confident in your skills, you'll challenge yourself to a contest in which you'll assemble your ultimate nigiri for the sushi master to give you a score and feedback.
You'll then make sure your leftover toppings and rice don’t go to waste by turning them into a beautiful chirashi sushi (a traditional sushi bowl). After all your hard work, you’ll sit back and enjoy your delicious sushi meal with a green tea taste test.
Once the experience draws to an end, you will receive a completion certificate and enjoy a fun surprise before receiving a QR code from where you can download all the photos and videos from the lesson to cherish your sushi-making memories.
