The ONLY Food Tour in Portugal exploring the savoriness and the techniques of fish preservation and dried-aged fish perfected by a Portuguese Chef. Based on unprecedented Portuguese research, we are now able to taste these artisanal products in balanced, local and gourmet fish recipes. Get ready to discover & taste muxama, garum, tuna pastrami, Atlantic wreckfish bottarga, tuna chorizo, swordfish belly bacon, smoked octopus, cuttlefish roe, and others. All from sustainable fishing on the Portuguese coastline and Portuguese Islands. Through a combination of 14 different delicious tastings, a 5-course menu & a slow food experience, we travel centuries & cultures, learning about preserving techniques, immersed in stories about people, salt, sun, & sea, while being amazed by the savoriness, of these unique & exclusive sea flavors! Beyond imagination!

Ancient twist on modern foods

Much fun experience with a great host. Really learned a lot about the history of Lisbon during Roman times and how they made and persevered food using Garum. Very tasty and interesting foods using this ancient preservative to enhance the flavors. Would definitely recommend for couples and foodies!

Loved every bite!

What an incredibly interesting, fun and delicious evening. Marina was an exceptional guide and really great company. She was so knowledgable about the history of garum and was able to share that with us. The museum that we went to before our dinner was fascinating and we were happy to be exploring a different part of Lisbon. The food: One item was more delicious than the next! BOOK IT!

Marina was so kind, friendly, and funny. We had such a truly special and intimate experience learning about the garum history around Lisbon. Marina, thank you for your hospitality. It felt like we were touring with a close friend. If you want something truly memorable and small, book this. Some of the best and most creative food we had on our trip.

A stroll though deep time to a tasty lunch...

I went on this wonderful tour after participating in a conference in this beautiful and interesting city. It was a wonderful way to get a sense of the deep history and culture of the place, learn about sustainable seafood and 'whole fish' cooking, and of course to enjoy delicious food. The guide was knowledgeable, interesting and generous with their time and thoughts, and it was great group of people also. Highly recommended.
