Good to Know

Join your local host Patrizia at her family’s apartment located in the center of Florence in a traditional building built in 1759. During your hands-on cooking lesson, Patrizia will teach you traditional Italian dishes from Florence and Italy’s Emilia Romagna Region. You will prepare an appetizer, a first course, typically a fresh pasta like tagliatelle, ravioli, or gnocchi, a second course of meat and dessert. Patrizia specializes in seasonal dishes that bring out the flavors of the region – in the summer you might learn to make sauces with fresh tomatoes, while in the winter months you might enjoy seasonal winter vegetables like artichokes. Your cooking lesson will last about 2 ½ hours; after you finish cooking, sit down together to enjoy your meal and some delicious Italian wine with your welcoming host in her beautiful home. Please note: This experience includes 2 glasses of wine.

Amazing

Located in her home, Patrizia was excellent to me and my wife! We prepared pasta, tomato sauce and other Tuscan dishes. We had so much fun and was so knowledgeable with everything. She sent us the recipes after the class to make when we get home. What a great experience!

Best of Florence

Highlight of Florence. Please be sure to ask for Patrizia. She was amazing. We loved her apartment and can not wait to get home and try out our new skills. I can’t say enough good things. I appreciate Patrizia sharing her beautiful home and kitchen!! The only issue was finding the location -be sure to look in the before you go section and don’t depend on the meeting point address. It was wrong.

Enhanced our trip to Florence

My husband, parents and I very much enjoyed this cooking experience. Patrizia was wonderful and we had so much fun learning from her and cooking in her apartment. Dinner was delicious and it was really nice to have this opportunity to interact with a local resident of Florence and to have a break from museums and restaurants. This was a highlight of our trip and I would absolutely recommend adding this to your Florence itinerary.

Patrizia Cantini is an absolute Tuscan treasure and Traveling Spoon is one of the coolest destination activity companies to come along in a long time. We met Patrizia in her apartment (built in the 1750s but not "architecturally significant" as she explained it... lol) in central Florence just blocks from the Duomo.
