Experience Details
Like something from a fairytale, on this winter-exclusive tour you will venture to Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan, an ice village on top of a frozen lake. At dusk, you can get spectacular views of ice houses and igloos glowing in the gentle light of twilight, creating a calm and other-worldly atmosphere. It may be cold, but there are plenty of opportunities to warm up.
You can relax in an onsen (hot spring) bath, or just warm your feet up in a foot bath after playing in the snow. You can also warm up in the Lake Shikaribetsu Kotan Ice Cafe where you can have one free drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) off a large menu that also includes hot cocoa and coffee. For an extra fee, make your own ice glass to enjoy your drink in! You’ll end your adventure at Shikaoi Town to enjoy a warm meal made from local ingredients such as salads using vegetables and cheese from local farms.
